1903 Mount Newton Cross Road

Council is being asked to defer a decision on RFP evaluation criteria for the disposition of 1903 Mount Newton Cross Road, Central Saanich, the current municipal hall property and the largest site in Saanichton Village. The motion would direct staff to report back with adjusted weightings for finance, design, and First Nations factors. The District's engagement portal describes the site as a long-term community redevelopment intended to deliver strong community benefit (letstalkcentralsaanich.ca). No development application, unit count, or project form is yet attached to the disposition process. At this stage the matter remains at the evaluation-criteria refinement level, months away from an RFP issuance.

A rezoning application for 1903 Mount Newton Cross Road in Central Saanich is scheduled for the May 4, 2026, Council meeting. The applicant proposes to change the property’s zoning designation. No decision has been made at this time.
