5325 Trans-Canada Highway

Joe Minten, as agent for 5859 Investment Ltd., is seeking Development Variance Permit No. DVP25D01 at 5325 Trans-Canada Highway, Duncan, for a 65-unit hotel renovation and redevelopment. The CVRD published a public notice for the application in advance of the May 6, 2026 Electoral Area Services Committee meeting (cvrd.ca). On May 6, the Electoral Area Services Committee recommended that the Board issue the variance permit. The motion carried with no conditions recorded. The recommendation now moves to the CVRD Board for a final decision at a future meeting.

A rezoning application has been approved for 5325 Trans-Canada Highway in the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Agent Joe Minten presented the proposal to the electoral area council on May 6, 2026, and the application was carried.
