Decision summary
Council is being asked to approve an additional $40,000 budget, funded from the water capital infrastructure reserve, to remove the old reservoir tank at the Eagle Heights reservoir, Duncan. The removal is part of the Eagle Heights Reservoir Replacement project, which went to tender in May 2025 (duncan.ca) and was under construction as of January 2026 (duncan.civicweb.net). The original above-ground steel tank, built in 1979, was near the end of its expected lifecycle. If approved, removal would proceed with the ongoing replacement, which was projected to last five months from January 2026, indicating completion around mid-2026.
The City of Duncan will consider a development permit application for the Eagle Heights reservoir on April 27, 2026. The applicant seeks approval for the project at this location. No outcome has been announced.
