Council is being asked to formally abandon Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2022 No. 4500.204 and Land Use Contract Discharge Bylaw 2022 No. 7355 for 444, 450, 500 Comox Road, 55 Mill Street, and 1 Terminal Avenue, following the Province of British Columbia and Snuneymuxw First Nation’s acquisition of the subject properties. The motion closes Rezoning Application RA475. No new project details or development scale accompany the abandonment request; the action removes the prior rezoning bylaws from the books.

A rezoning application has been submitted for properties at 444, 450, 500 Comox Road, 55 Mill Street, and 1 Terminal Avenue in Nanaimo. The applicant is the proponent. The application is scheduled for consideration at a Council meeting on May 4, 2026. An outcome is not yet available.
