The Harewood Neighbourhood Association is seeking a $3,400 grant from the Knowles Estate Reserve Fund for the Georgia Greenway Project. The Georgia Greenway is a 3.1 km multi-use trail in Nanaimo's Harewood area, featuring a steel girder bridge over the Chase River. Herold Engineering Limited completed design and contract administration for Phase 1, which included a 4.0 m wide trailway and roadworks (heroldengineering.com). Previous phases were delayed in 2018 over tree-removal concerns (cheknews.ca). The council agenda item is limited to the grant; no building permit or site-specific application accompanies it.
