1784 Denman Street

Sam Lawless is seeking a Heritage Designation Bylaw for the Fenerty Residence at 1784 Denman Street, Victoria, a 6-unit Edwardian Vernacular Arts and Crafts style house built circa 1912-1914. Council is being asked to approve the statement of significance, direct staff to prepare the designation bylaw, and give first and second readings with a public hearing date to be set later. The Victoria Heritage Foundation notes the building has architectural merit as an example of the style (victoriaheritagefoundation.ca). If first and second readings proceed, a public hearing will be scheduled.

Rezoning application for 1784 Denman Street, Victoria, will go before council on May 14, 2026. Submitted by Sam Lawless, the proposal seeks to change the property’s land-use designation. A council decision has not yet been released.
